Low Cost Blood Tests and Health Resources, Northern Colorado
September 2, 2016
I know that the cost of getting proper medical care, lab screenings, and blood tests is very high. I’m listing low-cost alternatives for health screenings in the local area, and update the list as I find more resources. This list includes blood tests/blood screenings, diabetes screenings (also called A1C), prostate tests and more.
Health Fair Panel: $35, Includes electrolytes, lipid panel, glucose, kidney, liver, heart function, gout, iron, and TSH (thyroid).
Complete Blood Count: $18, Includes red and white blood cell count platelet, and hematocrit to detect infection/anemia.
Hemoglobin A1C (diabetes screening): $27, Measures the average amount of glucose in the blood over the last 3 months.
Prostate Specific Antigen: $30, Recommended for men 50+. Elevated levels may be seen in men with prostate cancer.
Other blood tests and lab screenings available: Vitamin D, C-Reactive protein, Homocysteine, Testosterone, TSH, Lipid, FT3, FT4, Prolactin, Estrone, Estradiol, Estriol , and Progesterone (a hormone in men and women).
These cheaper, more reasonable costing lab tests and health screenings are for these northern Colorado cities along the Front Range: Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, Greeley, Johnstown, Longmont.
